The V-Rod Muscle represents a departure for Harley-Davidson. Instead of being an all-American iron horse, the bike is an aluminum-clad drag-strip denizen with a pedigree from across the Atlantic: A liquid-cooled, 122 hp, 1,250 cc Revolution V-twin engine designed in conjunction with Porsche Engineering powers the new Harley.
Although its 240 mm rear tire suggests a penchant for straight-lining, the V-Rod Muscle, which starts at about $17,200, is also a canyon carver, thanks to the low height of its seat and the relatively light steering supplied by its 19-inch front tire. Consider the optional ABS essential because it enhances the bike’s sporting capabilities.
In addition to tire-shredding acceleration, the V-Rod Muscle has an impressive physique consisting of the aforementioned aluminum, plus powder coating and satin chrome. The bike’s backside has fender-integrated lighting and a folding license plate, which could prove a useful feature if you decide to test the motor’s limits.
