FrontRunners: A Name for Himself

<< Back to Robb Report, The World’s Top Resorts 2014

Aston Martin enthusiasts know David Brown (who died in 1993) as the man who saved the marque from extinction and whose initials are appended to a series of the company’s cars. Not to be confused with him is the English entrepreneur David Brown operating David Brown Automotive (www.davidbrownautomotive.com), which introduced its first model in April. The car has Jaguar XKR underpinnings and is powered by Jaguar’s 5-liter supercharged V-8. If there is a link to the other David Brown, it is a visual one: The new car’s design can be viewed as a contemporary interpretation of the Aston Martin DB5.
