Land Rover’s New Quarter-Million-Dollar Range Rover Is for Sophisticated Huntsmen

With gunsmith Holland & Holland, Land Rover created a limited-edition vehicle with stunning details…

Testosterone takes the well-heeled wheel as Land Rover has announced the Holland & Holland Range Rover—a heady mix of firearms and four-wheel drive. Created in partnership with 181-year-old British bespoke shotgun manufacturer Holland & Holland, the ballistic-themed beauty is based on the Range Rover SVAutobiography developed by the marque’s Special Vehicle Operations division.

The new limited-edition looker features Holland & Holland’s signature green for its exterior (including the front grille and the door handles) and the gunsmith’s badging on the side vents and tailgate. The interior features polished French walnut veneers (the same wood used for Holland &Holland gun stocks), a diamond-patterned dashboard finish, and distinctively engraved brightwork that bears the brand’s acanthus scroll found ubiquitously throughout its sporting arsenal.

The collaboration continues with cargo room at the back that contains a deployable, leather-trimmed, locking gun case specifically designed to safely carry two pieces of Holland & Holland hardware. Attached to the floor, the case can slide to the tailgate for accessibility or be removed altogether.

Firing on all the same cylinders as the SVAutobiography, the new Range Rover shoots from zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 140 mph. Triggering that power is a 550 hp, supercharged V-8 engine with 502 ft lbs of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

With a starting price of $244,500, the new Holland & Holland Range Rover will be available in spring. Those aiming to own one, however, better be quick on the draw, as only 30 examples will be released in the United States.
