Even the creator of the Confederate Hellcat G2 acknowledges that the motorcycle is not tuned for long-distance cruising, flat-out speed, or even brief neighborhood jaunts. “It’s for very special moments,” says Matt Chambers, owner and president of Confederate Motorcycles. “The owner will probably ride the machine 100 miles a month and 1,200 miles a year. He is not going to have the time to ride the motorcycle on long trips or take cross-country vacations on it.”
Given that the motorcycle will remain stationary for most of its existence, it is not surprising that the Hellcat’s appearance is more akin to a piece of art than a means of transportation. The $52,000 G2, which Chambers considers the Bentley of motorcycles, features a compact but fluid design that flaunts the motorcycle’s finely sculpted parts, including a 45-degree, 144-cu-in V-twin engine that generates 140 hp at 6,700 rpm, enough power to impress an Arnage T.
