While many megayachts rely on repetitive interior design to fill space, the A Group’s 279-foot A470 yacht concept renounces such redundancy. Streamlined in both look and layout, the five-deck dandy will present customized living spaces unique in purpose—only one saloon and dining area, for example, but both vastly larger than those found on similarly sized luxury craft.
Ample onboard amenities will include a dedicated cinema, a gym and spa facility, an aft beach terrace, a bar, a pool and hot tub, and sunbathing sanctuaries that abound on multiple decks. And a water garage located along the starboard side hides the tender and water toys. When the day is done, an owners’ suite and collection of guest cabins comfortably host up to 12 passengers, while staff quarters accommodate 28 crew members.
The exterior is enhanced by elongated glass accents along the superstructure, as well as what the Monaco-based design studio refers to as a “glass shark fin”—a long stretch of glass running overhead the length of the yacht, from the beach club at the bow all the way to the upper deck. Powered by diesel engines with twin shaft and propeller propulsion, the elegant motor yacht will be able to travel at a speed of 20 knots. (theagroupdesign.com)
