After a few somewhat sluggish years caused by the global recession, business is booming again at Christensen Yachts. The shipyard, which is located in Vancouver, Wash., has 10 orders on the books for new builds, including three custom motor yachts that are scheduled to hit the water in 2014. The 160-foot Project C-2014, 142-foot Project Buzz, and 164-foot Project Silver Lining—due for completion in January, May, and July, respectively—will feature hulls and superstructures composed of a lightweight vacuum-infused composite material. The largest of the trio will have a gross tonnage of less than 300 and a range of approximately 4,300 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 14 knots. The four-deck yacht will sleep 12 guests in six cabins and accommodate 10 crew, and will be topped off with a touch-and-go helipad on the aft sun deck.
