The tankage is approximately 12,000 gallons of fuel, 2200 gallons of fresh water in addition to two black water tanks (reconstructed 6/00) and one grey water tank. The yacht is virtually vibration free as a result of the water jet propulsion system (a system in use in 135 foot Hong Kong ferries since the early 80s).Over 15,000 hours went into the engineering of TIME and a full scale model of the interior was lofted in a Chicago building. The Tom Texas hull design underwent extensive computer generated testing at the University of Michigan. The tests bore out that a penetrating hull form is considerably more efficient and faster than a hard chined hull. It also confirmed that a round bilged boat doesnt roll anymore than a hard chined boat because stability is governed by beam, draft and topside weight rather than the shape of the chines.
