Best of the Best 2011: Business Aircraft: Super Midsize: Dassault Falcon 2000LX

The $31.7 million Dassault Falcon 2000LX (201.440.6700, www.dassaultfalcon.com) is pricier than the other jets in its class, but it can fly considerably farther and faster than its competition. Powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C engines that produce 7,000 pounds of thrust each on takeoff, the jet can climb to its cruise altitude of 41,000 feet in just 18 minutes. When cruising at 528 mph with six passengers aboard, the Falcon 2000LX has a range of 4,600 miles—enough to fly nonstop from New York to Rome or from Hong Kong to Brisbane. As many as 10 passengers travel in a cabin that offers more than 6 feet of headroom and is almost 8 feet wide and just over 26 feet long. The jet also has 130 cubic feet of luggage space.
