Eberhard Returns to the United States

James D. Malcolmson

Just in time for its 125th anniversary, Swiss chronograph specialist Eberhard  & Co. has returned to the American market with a number of tempting pieces. Chief among these are special editions of the company’s Extra-fort Chronograph built especially for the anniversary. The limited production—500 pieces cased in steel and 125 in pink gold—features an ETA 7750 movement that has been modified with a column wheel by movement specialist La Joux-Perret. The construction is intended to combine the famous rugged reliability of the 7750 movement with the smooth action you would expect from a high-end column-wheel chronograph. The robust 41 mm case sporting refinements like a large date and delicate Arabic numerals presents a similar combination of strength and gentility. (603.206.5195, www.eberhard-co-watches.ch)
