Like every previous iteration of the CJ series, the Cessna Citation CJ4 (316.517.6056, www.cessna.com) is a little bigger and better than its predecessor. Compared to the CJ3, the CJ4 has a longer cabin that can seat a maximum of nine passengers—instead of the CJ3’s seven—and can hold more baggage. The cabin is roomy and features an entertainment system that integrates with laptops. The CJ4 also has a faster cruise speed (by 32 mph) and a sliver of additional range. Priced at just over $9 million, the CJ4 has a range of 2,219 miles (about the distance from Boston to Belize City or Edinburgh to Istanbul), a cruise speed of 520 mph, and the ability to climb to a cruising altitude of 45,000 feet in just 28 minutes. Fuel consumption can run as low as 175 gallons per hour.
