Best of the Best 2013: International White Wines: Domaine Zind-Humbrecht 2010 Pinot Gris Turckheim Clos Jebsal Vendange Tardive Alsace

  • Brett Anderson

One of the most significant producers of white wine in Alsace, France, Zind-Humbrecht is also a relative newcomer, having been founded in 1959 by Léonard Humbrecht and Geneviève Zind after their marriage. This remarkable domaine is now in the hands of their gifted son, Olivier Humbrecht, who crafted the superb Domaine Zind-Humbrecht 2010 Pinot Gris Turckheim Clos Jebsal Vendange Tardive Alsace (www.zindhumbrecht.com, $90). This mildly sweet white wine, redolent of citrus and peach, is balanced by the stellar acidity for which Clos Jebsal is renowned.
