Best of the Best 2013: Men's Fashion: Use of Fur: Hermès

  • Jill Newman

Mink is a tricky material for menswear, but leave it to Véronique Nichanian, the endlessly inventive men’s artistic director at Hermès, to reimagine a lavish mink skin as part of a reversible cashmere sweater ($31,100). “I designed this to wear with the sheared mink on your skin and the cashmere outside, or vice versa according to your mood,” she says. The subtle yet audacious piece is the star of the brand’s new Sporting Life theme, which has brought a casual touch to the house’s clothing and accessories, even those made with the most deluxe materials. Here the sweater is worn with white lambskin trousers ($6,000) and calfskin boots ($1,575). (800.441.4488, www.hermes.com)
