Best of the Best 2013: Semicustom Yachts: Vicem Cruiser 107

  • Bailey S. Barnard

Vicem Yachts has been producing boats with hulls made from cold-molded mahogany for more than 20 years. In April of last year, the Turkish builder launched the inaugural Vicem Cruiser 107 (954.462.8828, www.vicemyacht.com), its largest such model to date. The cold-molded V-hull and the yacht’s hefty 127-ton displacement enable the 107-foot vessel to slice through rough waters, offering a comfortable ride that gives guests the feeling of being aboard a much larger boat. The Turkish owner of the first Cruiser 107, which was dubbed Moni, chose a contemporary interior to counter the classic style of the exterior. With a full-beam master suite belowdecks in addition to two king cabins, one VIP cabin, and one twin cabin, Moni sleeps as many as 10 and has room for a crew of four. Standard features for the Cruiser 107, which is available in various configurations, include a 753-square-foot flybridge with a secondary helm station, a padded lounge, a seating-and-dining area, a bar, and a Jacuzzi. Prices for the yacht start at about $8 million.
