BEST of the BEST 2014 | Style | Men’s Fashion | Accessories: Valextra

“Modern, minimalist, and extremely functional” describes the sleek line of men’s accessories created by Valextra’s recently appointed design director, Álvaro González. The Sherlock Holmes briefcase ($6,460) exhibits the brand’s historic hallmarks and its innovative modern designs. In a nod to the past, the case combines Valextra’s Sherlock Holmes combination closure—a miniature safe-style lock patented in 1953—with such new features as a height-adjustable top handle that can be extracted and replaced. Made with today’s businessman in mind, this attaché, like Valextra’s other smart accessories, is lined in leather with multiuse pockets and compartments for documents.
