BEST of the BEST 2014 | Wings & Water | Business Aircraft | Business Turboprop: Pilatus PC-12 NG

Mary Grady

Exceptional performance, reliability, and versatility are among the qualities that characterize the Pilatus PC-12 NG (303.465.9099, www.pilatus-aircraft.com). Powered by the reliable Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67P turbine, the PC-12 NG climbs to 30,000 feet in under 16 minutes and performs in hot climates and high altitudes with minimal stress. Grass, dirt, and gravel runways are no problem for the PC-12 NG, and the massive cargo door (wider than 4 feet) makes it easy to load plenty of gear. The 2014 model includes a choice of six new interior designs by BMW DesignworksUSA, a new electric landing-gear system, and external LEDs. The company plans to add a wireless entertainment system later this year. The aircraft flies at speeds as fast as 322 mph and can cover 2,100 miles nonstop. When typically equipped, the PC-12 NG is priced at $4.65 million.
