A teak deck and a cockpit accented with leather and aluminum make the Dutch-built Wajer & Wajer Osprey 38 (+31.35582.1254, www.wajer.nl) one of the most stylish day cruisers, but equally striking is its performance. When powered by the optional dual 435 hp Volvo diesel engines, the boat can reach a top speed of 45 knots. The engines are connected to a joystick-controlled pod-propulsion system that makes it easy to maneuver and dock the cruiser. Fast as it may be, the Osprey 38 is nearly 30 percent quieter than Wajer & Wajer’s previous two models, which is perhaps why the optional features include a high-end audio system comprising three amps, eight speakers, and two subwoofers. Other options include diving equipment, a 40 hp Jetsurf board, and a rear-facing video camera for when the boat is towing water-skiers. The Osprey 38, which has a starting price of about $780,000, can be customized with a selection of woods, leathers, and finishes.
