Daniel Douglas, a founding member of Corcoran's Westside office, has been the top producer of West Side sales in the Corcoran Group since 1986.
Routinely setting and breaking his own professional sales records at Corcoran, Dan continues to obtain the highest-ever $/SF for premium CPW, WEA and RSD properties. Doing so, he is one of the company's highest-grossing brokers. Dan had been perennially acclaimed as Salesperson of the Year until he was promoted to the Superstar Circle of three members, the Corcoran Group's highest honor.
During his twenty-five years in the industry, Dan has developed an unerring sense of property value. He has managed many different types of real estate transactions, including the development of raw land and shopping centers and the sale of condominiums, cooperatives and townhouses. He owns several profitable commercial properties and is, therefore, sensitive to market fluctuations, harnessing changing trends to benefit clients and customers. Dan pays close attention to every detail and possesses strong negotiating skills. He creatively and capably guides his clients and customers through the sales process. "Nothing surprises me," he says. "I like coming to the plate with more than one strategy, anticipating and overcoming potential problems."
In addition to his technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the marketplace, Dan's solid interpersonal skills are a significant strength. He cares about each of his sales, whether small or large, and enjoys working with a diverse group of clients. Listening is most important to him, as well as respecting the parameters of the buyer or seller and then doing what it takes to achieve their goals.
Dan's accomplishments are not limited to real estate. When the musical Grease opened in New York, Dan was in the original cast. He is a published photographer. His portraits appear on the book jackets of The Perfect Storm, Liar's Poker, MoneyBall, The New, New Thing, The Elegant Universe, Serenity Prayer, Coach, The Blind Side, The Golden Spruce, Fareed Zakaria's The Post American World, Making Globalization Work by Joseph Stiglitz and The Great Unraveling by Paul Krugman, the latter two authors having won the Nobel Prize for Economics. An honors graduate of Princeton University in Art and Architectural History, Dan earned a Master's degree from Harvard University with high honors and studied in London as a Fulbright Scholar.
