Linda has lived in Blowing Rock since 1984 when she came to the High Country as the head women’s basketball coach at Appalachian State University. After 13 years in that position and posting numerous championships, Linda completed a Ph.D. and worked for 12 years in academic affairs before retiring in 2009. Her last several years at ASU was in the role of an associate vice chancellor working closely on a multitude of equity and diversification issues, including harassment and discrimination, problem resolution, and various aspects of hiring faculty and administrators.
Linda has been very active in various community organizations and endeavors. She was one of the founders of the High Country Women’s Fund, the first organization in Watauga and Avery counties to specifically help women and their children progress toward self-sufficiency. She serves as the president of the Sorrento Skies Property Owners’ Association and is involved in a number of ways at Grace Lutheran Church.
Linda began her real estate career in 2009 at Weichert, Realtors- Weber-Hodges Group in Boone, NC. At the 2012 Weichert, Realtors North/South Carolina Awards Celebration, Linda was tabbed as the #1 Agent Overall in the Western Carolinas, as the Top Listing Agent for the Western Carolinas, and named as an Ambassador Club member for notable gross commission income for 2011. She was also the Agent of the Year and Leading Listing Agent for Weichert, Realtors-Weber Hodges Group. Linda was named the Rookie of the Year for the Carolinas for 2010.
