Hugging the Santa Monica mountains and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Malibu has long been the home of multimillion-dollar, single-family estates. But, for those looking to purchase a place in the tranquil beachside town, there are now high-end condos that offer the same incredible views. San Francisco–based real estate firm Pacific Eagle Holdings recently transformed the former Villa Malibu property into Cavalleri, a 68-residence condominium building designed by Edmonds + Lee Architects. Situated on a 10-acre patch near Zuma Beach and Point Dume (which also happens to be home to Robb Report headquarters), the residences include two- and three-bedroom layouts and range from 1,577 square feet to more than 2,200 square feet. Red-tiled roofs and whitewashed exteriors give the residences a Spanish Revival–style feel, and oversize outdoor patios overlook the ocean. The eco-friendly residences also feature gourmet kitchens, hardwood floors, spa-like bathrooms, and open-concept floor plans.
Outside, Pamela Burton–landscaped grounds incorporate citrus groves and indigenous plants. Flowering trees and lavender produce a perfume-like aroma that mixes with the salty ocean breeze, and an outdoor kitchen is equipped with a barbecue grill, a picnic table, and a fireplace. A 52-foot-long communal swimming pool is surrounded by cabanas and lounge chairs. Other amenities include a fitness center, a yoga studio, a bocce-ball court, dog parks, and tennis courts.
