With the Beam Sensor ($100) from Colibri (401.943. 2100, www.colibri.com), lighting a cigar is half the fun. Rather than press a trigger, simply break the vertical plane of a beam of light. Once the cap is opened, a short red light appears; pass a finger through it, and the electro-quartz ignition produces a flame.
Colibri, creators of the first automatic lighter in 1928, designed a locking cap so that the lighter does not accidentally ignite. The Beam Sensor comes with two extra batteries and is available in four satin finishes: gold, gunmetal, pearl, and silver.
