FrontRunners: Divine Write

The fifth and final release of a pen collection celebrating religions, the Visconti Al-Aqsa (www.visconti.it) pays tribute to Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock, which is located adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. The dome houses the Foundation Stone, a rock that has significance to the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faiths. The barrel of the pen is inlaid with small decorative tiles that echo the mosaics adorning the dome’s exterior. The pen’s cap is topped with a reproduction of the dome, and its clip is set with a stone intended to evoke the Foundation Stone. The Al-Aqsa is available in two versions—a vermeil edition priced at $3,500 and an 18-karat-gold edition priced at $25,775—as either a roller ball or a fountain pen.
