This executive leadership team has been at the forefront of some of the most successful condominium sales in the DC region, including Turnberry Tower, The Columbia Residences and Lionsgate at Woodmont Corner.
The dynamic trio met during Schnider’s involvement with the development of The Residences at Liberty Center where Smith and Zelaska had established the sales and marketing strategy, meeting all development milestones and financial expectations, despite completion during the historic 2008 real estate correction.
Smith is a founding principal, president and principal broker of Smith | Schnider, bringing more than three decades of success in condominium sales, marketing and development to the firm where he exceeded $3.5 billion in sales revenue for some of the region’s landmark residential projects. As senior vice president of The Mayhood Company, Smith managed the sales and marketing of more than 6,000 residential units in 50-plus projects in the Washington, DC area. In other roles, Smith served as a member of the advisory committee to the chief financial officer of the city of Washington, DC.

Schnider is a founding principal of Smith | Schnider and Liberty Properties, Smith | Schnider’s real estate brokerage firm. Schnider manages the day-to-day operation of his family real estate company, Fred Schnider Investment Group, LLC, founded by his grandfather Fred Schnider in the 1930s. With deep roots in the Washington, DC area real estate and development market, Fred Schnider Investment Group has been responsible for developing thousands of mixed-use and custom properties and, most recently, millions of square feet in prime mixed-use development throughout Arlington.
