The Board and Lux kitchens, designed for Snaidero by Pietro Arosio, debuted earlier this year. Board features a Corian counter that cantilevers from an anchored cabinet, making it ideal for smaller spaces. The unit is meant to take the place of a larger, monolithic island and comes in more than 100 colors. The Lux kitchen, by contrast, features traditional framed doors, integrated lighting, and contemporary lines. The doors and drawers are uncluttered, with recessed handles that facilitate easy opening and closing.
Snaidero also recently introduced Idea40, a Pininfarina-designed concept that will update the company’s first Idea kitchen from the early 1980s. The new version of that handle-free design will incorporate a host of intriguing elements—bi-level countertops, Pininfarina’s metallic varnishes, an optional herb garden—when it hits showrooms early next year.
