Brand van Egmond’s La Vie en Rose.

Dutch design studio Brand van Egmond intended for its La Vie en Rose lighting collection (www.brandvanegmond.nl) to instill the feeling of being showered by roses after performing at the opera. Created for a sculptural installation, the dramatic designs became part of the 20-year-old company’s permanent line last April. Brand van Egmond offers La Vie en Rose as a “flexible system,” in which the illuminated roses and bouquets can hang individually or as a group ($4,300 as shown at left). Crafted from iron with nickel, white, or black finishes, the pieces can also be dressed up with Swarovski crystals.
