FrontRunners: Shoemaker’s Mark

Cesare Paciotti’s Lost chair.

<< Back to Robb Report, Design Driven

Italian accessory designer Cesare Paciotti did the inconceivable several seasons ago when he created a collection of men’s wing tips and cap-toe lace-ups that, instead of actual stitches, had stitch marks drawn onto the shoes in the manner of chalk on a blackboard. Paciotti recently applied his creative talents to the Home Collection by Cesare Paciotti (+39.02.7601.3887), his first line of home furnishings. Produced in collaboration with Cantori (www.cantori.it), Paciotti’s tufted sofas, sculptural leather chairs, platform beds, and smoky glass tables (priced from $1,700 to $35,000) are, like his footwear, peppered throughout with thoughtful innovations. His lightweight take on a Barcelona chair—the chrome-and-leather Lost chair ($1,815)—is surprisingly sturdy, and foldable.
