The Berlin-based fashion house Lever Couture has created one-of-a-kind pieces for celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Britney Spears. Now the company’s lead designer, Lessja Verlingieri, is styling trash—literally. Verlingieri has partnered with the Danish design company Vipp, whose classic metal wastebasket has been around since 1939, to create a series of eight unique art bins ($4,500 to $6,450). Available through Vipp’s Copenhagen flagship, the pieces required for their creation a total of 4,600 feet of fabric and 400 hours of craftsmanship. The designs range from a red silk and nylon, bandage-style wrapped can inspired by a Gwyneth Paltrow dress to the more whimsical silk and synthetic fiber, black tutulike can inspired by a dress worn by Lady Gaga.
