The Next Wave of Private-Island Resorts

From French Polynesia to Australia, Maine to the Maldives, these five new private-island accommodations span the globe and come in all shapes and sizes. There are ultra-plush, villa-and-pool-for-every-couple varieties and a remake of a 1950s family resort. The most unusual is a new two-room bed-and-breakfast off Maine’s extremely rugged coastline.
