Best Of The Best 2006: Quick Brit

<< Back to Robb Report, June 2006

The Triumph Sprint ST ($10,900) contradicts the notion that sport touring machines are docile, detuned versions of their sporting brethren. The rambunctious British import is fitted with a muscular, 1,050 cc, inline triple-cylinder powerplant. Perhaps to create continuity with the engine, Triumph adorned the Sprint with a triple headlight arrangement and a threesome of pipe-organ exhaust tips.

The Sprint offers the thrills associated with a sportbike, but it also is a practical mode of transportation, with superb handling, excellent brakes (with an optional antilock system), and an optional pannier system. It is a versatile machine that is as happy carving through a tortuous canyon as it is cruising major thoroughfares.
