Nearly two decades after a deal was made to create a golf course in the Bronx, Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point (trumpferrypoint.com) is ready for tee-off. Opened in May by Donald Trump, the Jack Nicklaus–designed course offers dramatic vistas of the Manhattan skyline and the Bronx Whitestone Bridge. Five tee boxes, which play between 5,278 and 7,407 yards in length, promise to accommodate golfers of all levels. For his part, Trump has already made it clear that he intends for the venue to host many major championships. Buffeted by winds blowing in from the East River, the course—a true links layout that Nicklaus says incorporates plenty of “spice”—will indeed be fit for competition.
