Sven Götti, owner and designer of the eyewear firm Götti Switzerland in Wädenswil, Switzerland, reinterprets retro-style eyewear from the 1950s through the 1970s using high-tech treated materials for his newest designs.
The sporty Yoshi style, made of super-slim double-layer Japanese titanium, is reminiscent of the 1970s-era men’s soft, square shape that the designer modified for today’s look. The style is retro, but the material is lightweight and durable, and finished with an epoxy application that is sandblasted, resulting in a unique matte finish. The Heiko style, made from an Italian cellulose acetate, was inspired by the thicker 1960s businessman’s frame. Prices range from $298 to $498. (+41.44.782.60.47, www.gotti.ch)
