FrontRunners: Easy on the Arches

<< Back to Robb Report, Luxury Preview 2014

The new Di Bianco SPQR shoes (www.scarpedibianco.com) do not appear any different from the brand’s leather oxfords and wing tips, but they certainly feel different. The soles are made of pliable rubber and have gel inserts, making the shoes as comfortable as sneakers. The line was designed for businessmen who need footwear for the office but want additional support for walking distances. The shoes, which are priced from $695 to $795 per pair and made in Naples, Italy, also feature leather uppers that are sewn directly to the cushioned soles. The absence of layers of cork or other materials keeps the shoes’ weight low and makes them flexible from the first step.
