The World of Isaia Opens in Milan

Isaia’s new flagship store on the fashionable Via Pietro Verri in Milan, Italy, offers more than just its stylish Neopolitan menswear. It’s a lifestyle emporium that reflects the personality and interests of its passionate 45- year-old owner, Gianluca Isaia. Among the services within the store is a barber chair that provides clients with a hot shave on weekends, and artisnal sandal makers will be on hand in spring and summer to create customized men’s sandals. Perhaps the greatest attraction is the heady VIP lounge (shown), equipped with a bar, flat-screen television, and the latest video games, to entertain clients who are either seeking privacy or want a preview of Isaia’s limited supply of luxury fabrics including angora, cashmere-silk blends, and vicuña, for made-to-order suits. The expansive store, designed by British architect James Irvine, presents the brand’s ready-to-wear, made-to-measure, bespoke, formalwear, and accessories, in addition to serving as a testing ground for new products such as men’s and women’s gold jewelry that will be available in March.
