David Yurman Opens New SoHo Store

The boutique pays homage to the designer’s New York roots with exclusive jewelry designs…

David Yurman’s new SoHo store reflects his New York heritage both in its design and through a series of limited-edition pieces. The 2,000-square-foot space is housed in a late-19th-century loft building known for its grand Richard Haas trompe l’oeil mural. Not far from Yurman’s Tribeca home and headquarters, the store presents a unique look at the designer’s roots with a wall of inspired artifacts and sketches, as well as original artwork that includes paintings by the brand’s cofounder (and Yurman’s wife), Sybil Yurman, and two large bronze angel sculptures that Yurman himself welded some 40 years ago. A range of exclusive pieces were made for the store, including a limited-edition signature Copper Cable Renaissance bracelet ($950), with a patina that reflects the color of the Statue of Liberty, and the Hampton Cable necklace, made in pink sapphires and darkened sterling silver ($47,000). The expansive new location, which is the designer’s 32nd retail location, has separate areas for men’s and women’s collections and presents a mix of classic and new jewelry, among them the women’s Hampton Cable collection (priced from $450 to $75,000) and the men’s Meteorite collection (from $495 to $5,900).
