Designer Eugenie Niarchos uses gold and gemstones of various colors to mimic reptile scales in her Venyx Chameleon ring (venyxworld.com). Niarchos, who is 29 and based in London, has given the ring a tactile quality by setting the stones so they feel as if they are at different heights. She formed the design’s ragged spine with a line of stones set upside down. The ring is priced at $7,520. “I love the beauty and texture of skins, like snake and crocodile, which are used in fashion, and I wanted to bring them into precious jewelry,” says Niarchos, who launched the Venyx World brand two years ago.
