FrontRunners: Luz Interpretations

<< Back to Robb Report, Car of the Year

The bracelet shown above exemplifies the unconventional jewelry designs of Luz Camino (available at Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan, 212.872.2578). To make this one-of-a-kind, $42,200 piece, she paired kyanite, a blue silicate mineral, with tourmaline and diamonds. “I like to take commonplace materials and make them precious through my interpretation and treatment of a design,” says Camino, who is based in Madrid. For her $21,100 Frozen Cherry brooch—which, like the kyanite bracelet, is part of a new 35-piece collection—she covered silver balls in red enamel and then dipped them in resin several times, leaving the dripping, clear liquid to harden into what appears to be ice. Prices for Camino’s jewelry range from $1,800 to $46,200.
