Laura Munder’s jewelry offers a glimpse of her life and loves. Her 18-karat gold Wave necklace set with colorful wave- and dome-shaped semiprecious stones was inspired by carefree summers at the Palm Beach and Sag Harbor seasides. Hours spent strolling European gardens yielded her Butterfly necklace and earrings, with more than 1,000 carats of faceted blue topaz joined together by an 18-karat gold and diamond butterfly clasp set with lemon citrine, London blue topaz, amethyst, and pink quartz.
“My work reflects the course of my life,” says Munder, whose jewelry designs are sold exclusively at Neiman Marcus (800.884.6137). “It continues to move and evolve as I travel and find inspiration in the colors and shapes of the sea, the garden, and all of nature. Creating a piece of jewelry is an expression of my emotions.”
Some of her European-inspired pieces use delicate chain to connect semiprecious stones that she has found in Africa, Brazil, Germany, and the Far East. The chain elements lend a feminine old-world flair, while the bold use of color and scale is strictly modern.
