Harrods Hosts Its Own Jewelry and Watch Biennale

The Biennale des Antiquaires relocates some pieces to Harrods for two weeks…

London’s Harrods is presenting extravagant and artistic jewelry designs during a two-week event featuring jewels from the Biennale des Antiquaires, the renowned art and antiques fair held at the Paris Grand Palais in early September. The Harrods exhibition (September 29 through October 12) highlights jewelry from Piaget, Graff, Boucheron, and Chaumet, among other top brands. It presents an opportunity for a wide range of visitors to see the extravagant designs and rare diamonds and gemstones that were on display in Paris earlier this month. The Harrods event will also spotlight fine watches not shown at the Biennale from various watchmakers, including Vacheron Constantin, Roger Dubuis, and the diamond master Backes & Strauss, which is marking the event with the Harrods Princess, a specially created timepiece encrusted with white diamonds and set with Zambian emeralds. The Harrods Princess watch is priced at about $391,000. (www.harrods.com)
