A Special Cut Makes Diamonds Look Even Bigger

Christopher Slowinski, founder of New York–based jewelry house Christopher Designs, has created L’Amour Crisscut Diamond, a ring that highlights a 10-carat diamond cut in the brand’s patented crisscut style, which took nearly six months to complete. The ring’s central stone is laser-cut from a 122-carat diamond rough, but—thanks to its 50 light-reflecting, crisscrossing facets—it appears larger than similarly sized stones with a different cut. Valued at about $1 million, the L’Amour Crisscut Diamond is an excellent value proposition; diamonds of a similarly perceived size would retail for three times its price. (lamourcrisscut)
