Named for the organically patterned steel that was used to make swords in the Middle Ages, the Brown Safe Damascus Steel Chronos (brownsafe.com) is the latest limited-edition watch safe from the Southern California–based company. The safe, which is priced at $98,500 and will be limited to 10 examples, features Damascus-style detailing on the exterior of the locking mechanism. Inside, the patterning adorns the door, the fronts of the three drawers, and the spaces between the 16 watch winders. The interior is lined with black leather, and the exterior is finished in a high-gloss metallic gray. Like all models in the company’s Chronos line, the Damascus Steel edition is equipped with a built-in alarm system, as well as a GPS tracking system—in case someone absconds with the safe, which stands 4 feet tall and weighs 1,350 pounds.
