Front Runners September 2015: Pleasure Dome

At 13.65 millimeters (just over half an inch), the Greubel Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision (greubelforsey.com) is the Swiss brand’s thinnest watch. Indeed, the Vision’s elegant proportions and classic round shape are departures from the massive sizes and asymmetric designs of the brand’s previous offerings. Those timepieces are admirable but not necessarily wearable. A sapphire dome on the underside of the case contains the full height of the tourbillon and enables the watch’s slenderness. Detailing such as the mirror-polished bridges and fired-enamel hour markers makes the Vision a sight to behold. It is priced at $325,000.
