The BRM R50-VT (www.brm-manufacture.com)—from the French watchmaker whose founder, Bernard Richards, has a penchant for motorsports—was designed to complement a motorcyle, the Ecosse Moto Works Heretic (www.ecossemoto.com). Both incorporate beautifully machined components, and the R50-VT even employs a movement reminiscent of an engine. The movement has a visible cylinder head and is suspended in the case by a three-point vibration-damping system. Blue PVD—a low-friction coating used in racing engines—finishes the interior of the titanium case, the case’s piston-ring-shaped exterior design elements, and the watch’s hands. BRM will make only 25 examples of the R50-VT, priced at $27,150.
