Much like so many of today’s successful women, the Harry Winston Premier Lace 31 mm ladies timepiece is a study in complexity and beauty. Part of the watchmaking house’s Premier Collection—an homage to its founder who was known as the “King of Diamonds”—the Premier Lace 31 mm pays its own tribute with 63 brilliant-cut diamonds decorating the bezel and lugs, while an additional 15 of the same precious stone are borne on the buckle.
The watch is named for the captivatingly intricate lace motif appearing on its face, delicately derived from white, beaded mother-of-pearl measuring a mere .15 mm in thickness. Standing in contrast to the feminine filigree is a black sunburst dial across which the passing of hours and minutes are marked without indices. An automatic quartz movement, made even more distinctive by rhodium plating and Côtes de Genève patterning, is housed within an 18-karat, white-gold case measuring 31 mm in diameter—a new size introduced by the company this year.
Offering an added dimension of color, the watch also comes in an 18-karat, rose-gold-cased version with pink-tinted, beaded mother-of-pearl lace, set against a Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial. But while the worth of complex and beautiful women is without measure, the Premier Lace 311 mm watch is valued at $25,800 in white gold and $31,300 in rose gold. (harrywinston.com)
