The Dolder Grand hotel in Zurich, Switzerland, is giving guests the gift of time with its Luxurious Watchmaking Experience. As part of the package, guests will visit Bucherer (established in 1888 by Carl-Friedrich Bucherer), one of the preeminent watch purveyors in Europe. A renowned watchmaker himself, Bucherer was among the first to give Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, retail exposure for his then relatively unknown product line. Amidst what is now considered to be one of the largest selections of Rolex watches in existence, an expert watchmaker will tutor travelers on the fine points involved in creating some of the finest timepieces in the world.
Along with the crash-course in clockwork, participants also receive two nights’ accommodation at the Dolder Grand, breakfast at the hotel’s Garden Restaurant, and access to the spa. Starting at roughly $2,100, the package price also includes a credit of around $500 that can be applied to a purchase at Bucherer. (thedoldergrand.com)
