Panerai Refines Its Sporty Split-Seconds Chronograph

While its roots are in creating sophisticated military timepieces, Panerai has lately been adding a sporty character to its watches, particularly those equipped with the in-house P2006 manual split-seconds chronograph movement. The titanium-clad PAM 530 Luminor 1950 Rattrapante 8 Days Titanio ($27,200) is the latest development along these lines. The movement is a uniquely-designed split-seconds chronograph, which unlike its ultracomplex and expensive forebears is suitable for any kind of sporting activity. The titanium case also provides a highly wearable weight while retaining Panerai’s generous and now famous proportions. (877.726.3724, www.panerai.com)
