Panerai’s Seafaring Vessel

Each year, Panerai commemorates its Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge regatta circuit with a nautically inspired limited-edition watch. This year’s Luminor Submersible 1950 Regatta 3 Days GMT Automatic Titanio–47 mm ($11,600) is limited to 500 pieces in titanium. This serious diver’s watch stays water-resistant down to about 300 meters, with a unidirectional rotating bezel and graduated scale for calculating dive times. The piece is powered by the P.9001 automatic caliber, which is produced in Officine Panerai’s Neuchâtel manufacture. Two spring barrels store a three-day power supply, while a rapid-set second time zone function offers a handy feature for skippers of Classic, Modern Classic, and Spirit of Tradition boats who follow the circuit from the Caribbean to Europe to New England vying for a trophy and a Panerai of their own.
