Stonewashed Tourbillon

Although the tourbillon has been housed in many forms in recent years, Ralph Lauren is the first company to adapt the mechanical watch complication to a style that might be described as “American casual.” The RL 67 Tourbillon ($55,000) has just been unveiled as part of the brand’s safari-themed collection of watches. Built along the same lines as Lauren’s original 1980s safari fashions, the stainless-steel watches are stylishly rugged, with areas of sandblasting that create what looks like wear along the edges of the blackened cases. An alligator strap gives the rugged new tourbillon a touch of refinement over the other, even more weathered models in the collection. (877.639.7934, www.ralphlaurenwatches.com)
