On select dates from April 9 through October 22, Orient-Express and the National Gallery, London will team up to offer unique excursions titled The Art of Travel. Thirteen different three- to seven-day journeys focus on either the Impressionist movement; the great works of Italian artists Canaletto, Bellini, Titian, and Veronese; or the collections of the 18th-century Holburne Museum in Bath, which has recently been restored.
Guided by knowledgeable National Gallery staff, travelers will receive tutorials of artistic masterpieces and tours of the places that inspired the artists, while staying in some of Paris and London’s finest hotels. All tours begin at the National Gallery, where a specialist will introduce the artwork. From there, guests will travel between London and Bath, viewing a collection of important bronzes and paintings. Or, for a longer seven-day tour, the Venice of Canaletto itinerary ($7,980 per person double occupancy; $10,420 single) includes four days of exploring Venetian landmarks like the Doge’s Palace.
