Hotel LeVillage Saint-Barth on St. Barthelemy announces a two-year makeover that includes the unveiling of one of the most distinctive rental villas in the Caribbean. Family-owned, family-managed, “LeVillage” consists of 24 kitchen-equipped cottage suites and villas set in 10 acres of tropical plantings, each patio or terrace skillfully screened by plantings to ensure blissful privacy. This is especially true of the hotel’s two self-contained villas: the newly upgraded Villa Iguana with its own hillside pool and panoramic views; and the brand-new Villa Polaroid, a maison extraordinaire taking its whimsical design cues from Andy Warhol. Resort facilities include a striking lipless pool, massage suite and gym with wraparound windows. Known as Hotel Le Village St.Jean when it opened in 1969, the hotel counted Greta Garbo among its first guests, setting the vogue for today’s celebrity-studded playground.
