Delaire Graff Estate

<< Back to Robb Report, 20 Super Suites

When Laurence Graff, chairman of Graff Diamonds Holdings, acquired South Africa’s Delaire Winery in 2003, he did so as much for the property’s views as for its vintages. In May the British jeweler realized his vision for the site—now known as Delaire Graff Estate—with the opening of a spa, two restaurants, and 10 guest lodges that take full advantage of the valley vistas.

Occupying 100 rolling acres northeast of Cape Town, Delaire remains a functioning winery, known for its Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The property also now includes a 10-seat cinema, a wine-tasting lounge, and a Graff watches-and-jewelry boutique. London-based David Collins Studio designed custom furnishings for the estate, which is decorated with contemporary South African artworks from Graff’s personal collection.

Delaire’s spa features an outdoor pool, a sauna and steam rooms, a fitness center, a Pilates studio, and a hair salon, as well as four treatment suites with hydro-massage tubs. Guests can also enjoy massages in their lodges, each of which includes a timber deck and heated infinity-edge pool overlooking the valley. Delaire Graff Estate, +27.21.8858160, www.delaire.co.za
