Northern California’s Sonoma Valley is hosting the first annual St. Regis Polo Cup, taking place at the Wild Oak Saddle Club on September 20. The polo icon Nacho Figueras will play in the Sonoma match and meet with fans. The $350 spectator entrance fee and proceeds from various charity auctions will benefit the Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center for children with disabilities.
The St. Regis San Francisco, about a 2-hour drive from the Wild Oak Saddle Club, is offering the St. Regis Polo Cup Aficionado Package ($6,750 per couple), which includes two nights in one of the hotel’s Metropolitan Suites, spa treatments, VIP access to the cup, a meet and greet with Figueras and some of the other players, and more. Through September, two additional packages are available for active guests. The Sport of Polo package (one night, from $3,375 per couple) includes a private polo lesson with the polo professional Rafael Hernandez and an optional Chairman’s Reserve Tasting of limited-production Chalk Hill wines. The Pony Trails Equestrian Aficionado Package (from $3,425 per night per couple) includes a private horseback vineyard tour of the Chalk Hill estate with the local provider Wine Country Trail Rides.
